Income Maximisation Caseworkers 4 part-time roles based in Local Citizens Advice across the County.
We are working with Stour Valley and Poole Partnership and the Westwey Partnership to support people as they claim or move onto Universal Credit. These roles will focus on ensuring income from all sources is maximised, including benefit entitlement, reducing outgoings and saving money on bills, and applying for discretionary and charitable help. Personal Budgeting Support Adviser [15 hrs/week based in Poole]
In addition to the above posts, Stour Valley and Poole Partnership are contracting Citizens Advice to provide Personal Budgeting Support, an element of the support available for Universal Credit claimants. The Adviser will provide Personal Budgeting Support via face-to-face appointments to include: ensuring the client understands key Universal Credit changes, working out income and outgoings and budgeting plans, advising on setting up a bank account, understanding priority payments, and saving money on essentials and non-essentials. The Adviser will also identify where a client may need to be referred to other projects (internal and external) for other support eg. debt advice, disability benefit appeals, energy efficiency measures. Candidates will need to demonstrate recent experience of delivering personal budgeting / financial capability support, and an understanding of how Universal Credit works. An understanding of advice services would be useful. Closing date: 20 November 2017

It is our experience that becoming a volunteer, as well as being fulfilling in its own right, can enhance a CV and provide valuable work experience as a stepping stone to paid work. There are a number of paid staff who began work as a volunteer within the Citizens Advice service.Volunteers:
