Conference 16/11/17: do you work with people with long-term health conditions?

Through our Advice Partnership work we are organising a conference for people who work with those who have long-term health conditions:

Thursday 16 November 2017, 9.45 – 4, Dorford Centre, Dorchester, DT1 1RR

The programme is practical and informative, and includes workshops on welfare benefits (focus: ESA & PIP), Dorset Advocacy, mental health, Relate services, working with people with Autism, plus speakars from My Health My Way, SOLLA, Poole Health &Wellbeing Collaborative, and Healthwatch – and much more. A number of organisations will have information stands.

Calculating the True Cost of the Benefit Cap

A new report published today by local Citizens Advice suggests that the impact of the benefit cap across Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole is largely hidden although data and case studies suggest some worrying trends.

Citizens Advice in Dorset: an introduction to our Impact Report from Anne Joseph, CAiD’s  Independent Chair

I took on the role of Independent Chair in May 2015 just as the Connecting Advice project was entering its final furlong, and the research was underway for the Dorset Advice Strategy. This plunged me straight into the world of advice delivery, the opportunities – and challenges – of partnership working, the ever-present fragility of funding, and the murmurings around future  local government re-structure.
